How are you using AgriFeeds?

AgriFeeds has been now around for just over a year. We want to hear from you on how you use AgriFeeds. Do you use filtered feeds in your website? Do you keep up to date with events using the "Upcoming Events" feature? Did you add "Global Issues" to your iGoogle? Tell us how you use AgriFeeds.

How GFAR is using AgriFeeds

We at the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) are exploiting AgriFeeds in our news aggregator.

Since not all our sources of information have registered their feeds to Agrifeeds, AgriFeeds is for the moment one among a number of sources from which we harvest, not the only one, but we will rely more and more on it as it is becoming more and more comprehensive.

We exploit the dynamic filtering mechanism of AgriFeeds to harvest only news related to the topics of interest to us (e.g. 'Agricultural research and extension', 'Agricultural policies', 'Participation', 'Governance', 'Information management and systems', 'Training and capacity building', 'Sustainable natural resources management'), limiting the results to the 5 latest items.

Another feature that we use from AgriFeeds is the iCal feed of events: we filtered only the events from the GFAR feed and registered that custom iCal feed with Google Calendar so that we could have a GFAR calendar on Google.
We also created other custom Google calendars from AgriFeeds (calendars of the Regional Fora, calendars of partner organizations etc.) and combined them together in our Calendars page.

We hope that more and more organizations will register their feeds with AgriFeeds and help provide a comprehensive service.

The website is conceptualised well and implementation is great.

Hi
I was going through the site and came to know that this site is built on Drupal 5.x. I must say that the website is conceptualised well and implementation is great. Myself being a developer and great fan of Dupal congratulate you for doing a commendable job in this implementation. Out of curiosity I checked the implementation and came to know that after installation you have not removed the update.php, install.php and other files which are required for one time use, are still there on your server. I think one should remove them after use, although its nowhere suggested in the installation document of Drupal but I think it should be included.
Once again congratulation and keep doing the great job.
Regards
Vivek
