Mikhailovsky flour mill has accepted for storage about 400 tonnes of new-crop oats. In the nearest time partners of the mill will continue shipping oats for storage, according to Vadim Murunov, Director of the enterprise. Currently, arable units resumed harvesting, which was virtually interrupted by rains in late August, and are conducting underworking of oats.
Mikhailovsky flour mill also purchased over 1.5 thousand tonnes of new-crop wheat grain from the arable units. It should be noted that all wheat is third grade; the grain is characterized by high gluten content.

Arable unit Allac Ltd. (Kamensky district of the Altay Territory), integrated in the structure of PAVA company, the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East, started sowing winter crops.
At present, the planted area is 130 ha of winter rye. Seeds of elite sorts “Chulpan” and “Vlada” were bought for the campaign. Both sorts are short-stemmed, resistant to lodging. Overall, the unit plans to sow 1,5 thousand ha of winter rye. The campaign is conducted with new machinery – Canadian seeder unit “Morris”.

OJSC “Zauralsky Kreker” (Schutschye, the Kurgan region) is the subsidiary of PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru), one of the three leading grain processors in Russia. The confectionery enterprise continued to expand the geography of overseas shipments. This year, “Zauralsky Kreker” products appeared in Georgian stores for the first time. In July, 2008 the sample consignment of crackers was shipped to Kyrgyzstan.

The largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East OJSC PAVA maintains its collaboration with Thailand. In late April, 2008 PAVA signed the first contract for flour shipment to this country. And a few months later another Thai company became interested in the products of the Altay grain processor. Soon, products for the second partner from Thailand who plans to supply Russian flour to confectionery enterprises in Bangkok, will be shipped from Rebrikha flour mill (the Altay Territory). Thailand will receive first-grade flour produced by PAVA.

Altay grain processor PAVA made a charity contribution to a rural school before new school year. One of arable enterprises in the PAVA structure is situated in Allac village of the Kamensky district, and it takes an active part in social life of the community. Aid for the local school is a good tradition of the enterprise. The school’s canteen is regularly supplied with cereals, flour and vegetable oil of Allac Ltd. own production.

This year, the best exporter of the industry in 2007 (according to the results of the competition held by Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade) Altay grain processor PAVA continued to expand the geography of foreign sales. In July, South Korea was added to the list of overseas countries having contracts for shipments of PAVA products. One of the confectionery enterprises in the country became the new partner of the company.

Specialists from OJSC PAVA and their partners entered into first contracts for new crop purchases. Subsidiaries and structural subdivisions of the company receive wheat and grey crops – rye, barley, oats.
Experts of the company note that yields of the grain crops on the already cultivated areas are a little lower (approximately 4 – 5%) than last year; however, first harvests show that Altay growers produced quality grain: the main bulk of the harvested product is no lower than third grade, with high gluten content.

The award ceremony where the Altay social movement “Rodnoy Altay” was granted a departmental medal “For cooperation with the Russian Federal Drug Control Service” took place on July, 12 of the current year.

PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) continues to develop overseas flour markets. This time the contract was signed with a new partner from the Central-Asian state – Tajikistan Republic.
The agreement was reached after delegates from the Sogdian Region of Tajikistan officially visited the Altay Territory on July, 30 – August, 2 of the current year.

PAVA Group, one of the largest companies in Siberia, has completed restructuring. PAVA Group includes over 20 enterprises specializing in agricultural production, flour milling, investment activities and rendering of services. Therefore, the main objective of restructuring was to improve the management system, financial and economic policy of the company, its operational activity, the system of marketing and distribution, personnel management.

This year, PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) presented high-grade flour and semolina manufactured by the company for participation in the XI competition “Best Altay Product – 2008”.
It is a tradition that PAVA, the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East takes part in the competition “Best Altay Product”. Last year, high-grade wheat baking flour produced by PAVA was acknowledged the best in the category “Products of grain processing”. It was awarded a medal.

PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) defined several priority regions where efforts supporting secondary sales of consumer-size products will be activated. The fact is that having contracts with large companies, the grain processor achieved a certain level of sales volume which is almost impossible to increase without working with a secondary purchases market. In the nearest future, the plan aimed at promoting secondary sales will be put into action.

In early July, 2008, specialists of the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East OJSC PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) signed the first contract with the company’s partners from Kazakhstan. The shipment consisted of a sample consignment of semolina produced by PAVA. The cereal was manufactured at Rebrikha flour mill (the Altay Territory).

In the nearest future a Special Commission with the Department of Agricultural and food markets at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture will make a decision about allocation of grain from the state intervention fund in 2008-2009 on the Rebrikha, Mikhailovsky and Achinsk flour mills, Chemrovsky and Pankrushikha grain reception centres.

For the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East OJSC PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru), July is the time of preparation for the harvesting campaign in the arable units, grain-collecting stations and flour mills of the company.

Thoroughgoing preparations for working with new crop are under way at Rebrikha flour mill. Perhaps, the most important novelty is the installation of an air-operated sampler. This is modern, high-technology equipment which allows to speed up grain-receiving and reduce the amount of down-time for transport vehicles. Besides, it improves the process of sampling.

Harvesting campaign in the arable units of the largest Altay grain processor is at its height. At the moment, grain and pulse crops have been thrashed 52% of the planned area at Selhozholding PLC (Romanovsky, Volchihinsky districts), Allac Ltd. (Kamensky district), OJSC Melnikovo (Novichihinsky district), Agrofirma Niva Ltd. (Soltonsky district).

To recap, PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) has actively shipped flour abroad since the 2nd half-year of 2007. In a short period of time, specialists of the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East managed to accomplish a real breakthrough in this line of business. The volume of export sales is increasing steadily every month.

On September, 16-19, 2008 the capital of the Altay Region will host XIV food and agricultural trade fair “Altay Niva”. This year the participants will include more than 300 companies, enterprises and farming units from Siberia, Russia, countries of near and far abroad. Traditionally, PAVA - the largest grain processor of Siberia and the Far East - takes part in the fair, and this year is not an exception.

This year, arable units of the grain-processing company PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru) (the Altay Territory) according to the newly introduced crop rotation scheme made a decision to cultivate a whole number of crops including sunflower. Production of this oilseed crop is one of the most profitable in plant cultivation.
In the current year, in OJSC ‘Selhozholding’ (the Romanovsky district) over 700 ha was sown with sunflower. In the neighbouring Volchihinsky district, where a separate unit ‘Seliverstovo’ is located, sunflowers will emerge for the first time as well.
