Completed Although the Code of Conduct has been adopted by all Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) members states it is apparent that there is a dearth of material which can be used to promote, disseminate and implement the code particularly in less developed countries. Feed back and indications from FAO member countries are that many are unable to promote the code without external assistance and FAO Fisheries Department is in the process of establishing the TRAINFISH Programme as an integral part of the implentation of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. TRAINFISH will employ the TRAIN-X methodology, which is the process, designed to facilitate training aimed at setting up standards and norms. the TRAIN-X approach is promoted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and is now used extensively within the UN system. To produce a package of training and awareness building material for use in small-scale fishing communities in less developed countries and developing fisheries. 1. Production of training material on selected topics.2. Publication of training and extension materials.
