Third Session of the Artisanal Fisheries Working Group of the CECAF Scientific Subcommittee
The Third Session of the Artisanal Fisheries Working Group of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic (CECAF) Scientific Sub-Committee will be held at the Main Conference Room of the FAO Regional Office for Africa, from Tuesday, 7 June to Thursday, 9 June 2005.
Participants are expected from Morocco, Senegal, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, and Congo DR. Among the issues to be discussed are the importance of artisanal fisheries in the national economies, causes and effects of fishermen migration in the region, status and trends of reporting (statistical data collection and analysis), and results of costs and earnings studies in artisanal fisheries in the region
