FAO press conference on the re-emergence of bird flu in Asia

Journalists and news organizations are invited to an FAO press conference on the re-emergence of bird flu in Asia on Tuesday 23 January at 11:30 hours at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel. FAO speakers will be Hiroyuki Konuma, deputy regional representative for Asia and the Pacific, Laurence Gleeson, regional manager of FAO’s emergency centre for transboundary animal diseases, and Juan Lubroth, senior officer infectious diseases.
In addition, during an informal lunch starting at 12:30 hours, FAO will facilitate one-to-one interviews by journalists on bird flu issues with FAO AI experts stationed in Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor Leste and Viet Nam.
When and where:
On Tuesday 23 January from 11:30 till 12:30 at the Riverside I room, second floor, Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel – 2 Captain Bush Lane, New Road, Bangrak, Bangkok – followed by lunch from 12:30 onward at the same hotel.
In order to allow for registration, journalists attending the press conference should bring along a press accreditation card or a letter from their employer stating the purpose of their attendance.
