The landlocked mountainous country of Rwanda, Central Africa, is the most densely populated country on the African continent. The majority of people live in rural areas, engaged in subsistence agriculture, and almost two thirds of the population live below the poverty line. Since the genocide and civil war of 1994, Rwanda has made substantial progress in rebuilding its agricultural production, and in stabilising its economy. Major exports are tea and coffee. 03/07/09
