[2008-04-07] Grapefruit
Demand has continued to be regular and quite satisfactory in France, and has begun to improve in Northern Europe. Floridian traders have remained very confident, even if the last weeks exports have been higher than expected and in line with the last year ones. The market is getting more concentrated, and only few specialist have continued to receive normal volumes. Prices have increased for grade 48 and have been very firm for grade 40. Demand seems to have increase slightly for Mediterranean grapefruit. Global arrivals have continued to decrease, and have remained significantly below the average. Turkey and Cyprus arrivals have decreased further and are now very limited. Deliveries from Israel have remained 20% below the average, in spite of a slight increase (volumes concentrated in the hand of a very limited number of traders). The first volumes of Corsica have been delivered.
