ICT-AGRI is a project founded under the European Commission's ERA-NET scheme, with the objective to develop research using practical initiatives to coordinate programs at different levels in specific fields. The Project Consortium is comprised by 18 partners and 12 observer organisations cover 20 countries ensuring a unique platform for building and maintaining international collaborations and networks.
ICT-AGRI focuses on 3 specific themes:
- Agriculture and food supply
- Environment and climate and
- Information and Communication Technology
This project was initiated on 1 May 2009 and runs until 31 July 2013. It has partners and observers from 21 countries creating a platform for building and maintaining international collaborations and networks.
"ICT-AGRI will help coordinating European research in ICT and robotics and develop common research agenda based on shared priorities. New technologies are rapidly emerging and will be capable of revolutionizing farming in the near future. ICT-AGRI is supporting the development and implementation of these new technologies for a competitive, sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture"
