Paper thin profits - supplying Cuba's cigar industry
Cigars are Cuba's third most important export, and are internationally recognised for their quality. The country produces over 150 million cigars per year, with 70 per cent of Cuban tobacco grown in the western province of Pinar del Rio. In the Viñales valley, farmers cultivate a wide range of crops, including tobacco, mostly using traditional agricultural practices. 09/07/09
