Legal Officer
Under the general supervision of the Chief, Development Law Service, will:
advise Member Governments on the legal and institutional aspects of the management of agricultural and other renewable natural resources;
conduct and supervise the planning operation of field projects and the selection/supervision of consultants;
conduct advisory missions involving the most complex, sensitive and novel legal issues;
provide FAO technical divisions with advice, information and assistance on the legal and institutional aspects of the management of agricultural and other renewable natural resources;
prepare recommended texts of laws, regulations and other legal instruments;
carry out legal research;
analyse, select and summarize legal texts for recording and publication;
respond to requests for information on national and international law, relating to the management of agricultural and other renewable natural resources;
participate as required in working groups, meetings, seminars and conferences;
provide guidance to colleagues on the most complex legal issues, as required;
perform other duties as required.
