Research Fellow
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Research Fellow (RF) to conduct research on topics related to land resource management, encompassing land use, sustainable land management and climate change as well as responses to poverty reduction. The initial work will be analyzing opportunities to involve small farmers in four countries - Ghana, Mozambique, Morocco and Vietnam - in international carbon markets and carbon offset programs, and includes development of interactions and collaboration with other research organizations, national and local officials.
The Fellow will conduct research and provide modeling and agriculture technology support as part of an interdisciplinary team to identify a variety of options to help decision-makers at various levels access the international carbon markets as they develop, either voluntary markets or markets that might arise as a result of international climate change negotiations. The Fellow will also conduct research aimed at providing policy solutions that reduce hunger and malnutrition by identifying and analyzing alternative policies for the sound and sustainable management of agriculture's natural resource base.
